Artemis Archery are proud to be able to offer something genuinely unique to care homes - soft archery sessions.
Light-weight bows and suckered arrows make this a very safe and inclusive activity that can be done in a relatively small indoor space. Soft archery sessions support coordination, mobility and cognitive stimulation - residents often surprise themselves with how capable they feel and how much satisfaction they get when they hit the target. Additionally, further adaptations can be made to equipment to enable residents of all abilities to take part.
Soft archery sessions are also a brilliant social activity prompting much laughter and good natured teasing about who is going to be Robin Hood and who has perhaps slightly missed the mark with their arrows! Staff and families can join in with sessions and residents who don't want to participate can still enjoy watching the fun.
Sessions can be tailored to suit groups with different needs - get in touch using the contact form at the bottom of the page to discuss your requirements.

Residents can participate in seated positions using their walkers, wheelchairs or standard chairs to ensure they feel stable and confident.

Soft archery uses small, light-weight bows.

Suckered arrows make it a safe activity to have inside.

Soft archery sessions can be run in a relatively small indoor space.

Further adaptations can be made to equipment or technique to include archers with different needs. For example, the use of a TheraBand to draw the string or mouth release tape.

Soft archery sessions are a great social experience as well with archers enjoying watching each other and maybe having a little giggle when an arrow *slightly* misses the mark.
